Tuli ADC promulgates prohibitory order

Tuli, April 3 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner & Sub-Divisional Magistrate Tuli, Imsongmeren has promulgated under Section 144 CRPC prohibiting movement of more than one person or any vehicular movement in the 2 km belt in Nagaland side of Tuli Sub-division.

According to the order issued by the ADC on April 3, the curfew will come into effect from 4 AM of April 4 and shall remain in force for 30 days.

Citing the reason behind the promulgation, the order said that there is “credible information from various sources about the movement of labours and anti-social elements across the inter-state border (Nagaland/Assam) falling within Tuli Sub-division" under Mokokchung district.

“In regard to the prevailing situation of COVID-19 pandemic as declared by WHO and government, there are several grounds for taking precautionary steps for prevention of spread of the pandemic and safety of the people,” it said.

In this regard, the order stated that after examining all facts, the ADC is convinced “that there are sufficient ground for promulgation of prohibitory order U/S 144 Cr.PC in the 2 Km belt of Nagaland side bordering Assam to deter the suspicious movement of labours and anti-social elements.”

“Considering the exigency of this matter, this order is passed ex-parte” it said.

“Any violation of this order shall be punishable under provision of Sec. 188 IPC,” it added.

However, Magistrate on duty, Medical teams, Securiry forces and officials on COVID 19 duty are exempted from the purview of the prohibitory order.

“For NH-2 (old NH 61) which falls under prohibitory area will follow the existing COVID 19 Order No.DEV-79-2020/268 dated Mkg the 25th of March'2020 issued by Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung,”it added.
