‘Tune Up Channel’ wins 9th Multi Media Campaign finale

‘Tune Up Channel' from Mokokchung today won the state level grand finale of 9th Multi Media Campaign organized by Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS) here under the theme "Know Your HIV Status. Get Tested and Treated."
The objective of Multi Media Campaign is to create awareness about the issue of HIV/AIDS, increase uptake of services available and to reduce stigma and discrimination towards people living with HIV/AIDS.
'Tune Up Channel' from Mokokchung won a cash prize of Rs. 50,000.
"Pin Drop Silence" from Kiphire and "Fifth Note" from Kohima stood Ist and 2nd runner up and awarded with Rs. 30,000 and Rs. 20,000 respectively.
Other four bands vied for the grand final included; Paradigm Shift (Dimapur), Naga Incarnate (Tuensang), Searching May (Kohima) and Two Fingers (Dimapur).
Theja Meru, advisor Task Force for Music & Arts (TaFMA) graced the occasion as the special guest and gave away prize to the winners.
He said that Multi Media Campaign is an important platform to promote health and promote music industry as well in the state.
On the goal of free HIV/AIDS society by 2030, Meru said this is achievable when the people become responsible citizen.
In motivational talk, Khrienuo Liezietsu, Miss Kohima 2019 encouraged the young people to stay safe from HIV by knowing how HIV can be transmitted and how it can be prevented.
“Let us play an important role as peer educators and educate each other about HIV and make sure that young people are engage in the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of HIV preventive programme,” she said.
She also stressed on the need to promote responsible sexual behavior through comprehensive sexuality education in the schools and in community setting so that teenagers have the basic knowledge and eventually be safe.
The gathering, mostly the college students pledged to create awareness in its own capacity and to influence the masses that prevention is the only cure for HIV/AIDS.
It also pledged to work for elimination of stigma and discrimination.
Earlier, NSACS project director Dr. Ngangshimeren delivered keynote address while vote of thanks was proposed by Thejangunuo, deputy director (IEC), NSACS.
