
Dimapur, January 16 (MExN): The two executive members of the Nagaland GB Federation (NBGF) today issued a statement clarifying on its annual executive meeting held on October 7, 2021 as well as new office bearers.
This statement is being issued in the interests of maintaining transparency in the eyes of the public and to prevent any confusion that may arise out of statements issued by any individual or groups of individuals acting at the behest of vested interests, it said.
As per the statement issued by the S/Chairman T Nypuli and S/Secretary, Hetoho S Jimomi the NGBF, then, had 12 districts and 2 subdivisions as its federating units.
The Presidents and General Secretaries of each district, by the virtue of their posts, are executive members of NGBF, it noted, adding that the executive members have the “constitutional power to decide on the selection of office bearers.”
Accordingly, all member Presidents and General Secretaries of all the districts of Nagaland, including the two subdivisions, came together on October 7 for the annual executive meeting, it said.
During the meeting, the tenure of the present executive members were constitutionally and unanimously extended for one term (i.e. 5 years) in the light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, it maintained.
The house also resolved to convene the general session in Phek district as and when situation is conducive to such, it added.
