Ungma Baptist Church Chair in Communication Studies at CTC

Mokokchung, November 17 (MExN): Clark Theological College (CTC) announced the establishment of Ungma Baptist Church Chair in Communication Studies on the occasion of the 45th Thanksgiving Day of CTC on November 10.  

While establishing the chair, Ungma Baptist Church pastor, Rev. Dr Noklen Longkumer said after much prayers by the whole church members on the eve of the church’s 100 years celebration in 2014 and after considering the faithful and enormous contribution of CTC towards communication of the Gospel, the church decided to institute a chair in Communication Studies by contributing Rs. 20 lakh to CTC, according to a press release.  

Responding to this, CTC Principal Rev. Dr Marnungsang, who was the speaker for the 45th Thanksgiving Day, invited the Clark Community to continue rejoicing for what the Lord has done and challenged the whole community to continue proclaiming God’s wonder, the release added.   Rev. Dr A. Tali Ao, who led the programme, observed that “not only the land owner where the present CTC is built, but throughout the past 45 years of existence, Ungma Baptist Church spearheaded the support in the theological journey of the College.”  

The 45th Thanksgiving Day was also observed as Curtain Raiser for Golden CTC: 1972-2022. Convener of the committee for CTC 50th Anniversary, Dr. L. Imsutoshi Jamir highlighted that “If God willing, by 2022, CTC will be a Doctoral Research Centre under Senate of Serampore University, have new Library Building, Clark Centre for North East Indian Studies, produce Tribal Bible Commentary, initiate students exchange programme, institute Harvesting for Giving Scholarship for needy students, seminars and consultations, public lectures.”
