Dimapur, September 22 (MExN): The Naga National Council (Parent Body) under the leadership of Yilow Humstoe, Zhiongba Yimchungrü and V Nagi today stated that the sentiments of the various organizations and “unity” was the “top most priority” at this “sensitive and crucial time” of our political history.
The NNC (PB) in a press release issued by its Information & Publicity Wing said that the Council watching the political situation in the state has come to understand the Naga people sentiment of tribal hohos, NGOs, students bodies, important personalities, intellectuals at “this sensitive and crucial time of our political history, and that unity and inclusive of all the Naga National Workers of different groups are the top most priority and necessity at this moment.”
It held that this was a “welcome step for Naga political freedom” and it must be done without further delay with true spirit of Christian sincerity and honesty “without any bias in this demanding urgency.”
“But time is very short so who or which body/organization will shoulder the responsibility of bringing all the Groups to genuine unity without leaving anyone in this matter of urgent concern,” it added.
Meanwhile, the NNC (PB) proposed the Nagaland Christian Forum as the “right body” to shoulder with understanding and participation of other Christian Community of Naga inhabited areas “for this most important and demanding work for Naga Homeland.”
