Kohima, August 18 (MExN): Vision Trinity Club organised a 'Reach Out' event on August 17 and contributed 200 books and 500 facemasks to five villages in the Southern Angami Region (Kohima). 

According to a press release received on Wednesday, the club members, with its President Nunese Sale (Speaker, Southern Angami Students Union) reached out to the Southern Angami villages of Pfuchama, Khuzama, Kigwema, Phesama, and Sakhabama.

The 200 books comprised of varied selected categories from fiction, general knowledge and reference books; to further encourage and enhance the students' cognitive and academic abilities, the release stated. Stating that students, especially in villages, have been facing inconveniences in acquiring resources for studies and reading, the club informed that the main purpose of the gesture was to promote a culture of reading. The event was carried out successfully with all safety precautions for the pandemic in mind, it added.
