Peren, January 18 (MExN): The inaugural programme for water supply to New Headquarter Complex, Peren was held on January 18 with Minister for PHED, Jacob Zhimomi as the special guest.
A DIPR report stated that speaking at the function, Zhimomi said that Peren District has come a long way in many developmental works. He encouraged the people to preserve and protect the property provided by the Department for the benefit of the public.
A briefed technical report was presented by Additional Chief Engineer Repangyangba Longkumer where he said that water supply to New Peren district Headquarter cost Rs 9.3 crore. The project was supported by the Government of India, DoNER Ministry, under NLCPR. Total capacity of treatment plant is 1.14 Million litres daily.
Deputy Commissioner Peren, S Tainiu expressed happiness and thanked the PHED for the success of the project on time. Commissioner & Secretary PHED, Dr Maongwati chaired the programme and also delivered the welcome note. Pastor Hekoraing invoked God’s blessing while SE, Er T Sangtam proposed the vote of thanks.
