WDCCI addresses market monopoly concerns

WOKHA, SEPTEMBER 18 (MExN): In a joint consultative meeting held on September 18, the Wokha District Chamber of Commerce & Industry (WDCCI) met with the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Executive Officer of the Wokha Town Council, and local councillors to address rising concerns over market monopoly issues. The discussion focused on the recent escalation in public discourse surrounding the allocation of syndicates and agencies.

The WDCCI has called for an immediate review of the market monopoly system, emphasizing its negative impact on both the business community and the general public. After extensive deliberation, the authorities concurred that monopolistic control over agency allocations could harm the business environment. Consequently, they have resolved to eliminate such practices entirely.

The Chamber expressed gratitude to the ADC and Executive Officer for their prompt intervention in resolving the issue. The WDCCI reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the interests of the business community and supporting a market economy driven by free and fair competition. The Chamber opposed any form of agency or monopoly practices within their operational scope to ensure a competitive and accessible market for all service providers.
