We are humans first, says WC NNPGs in solidarity message

DIMAPUR, APRIL 2 (MExN): The Working Committee (WC), NNPGs today extended its gratitude and solidarity to health care workers in Nagaland, in particular and across the world in general, for donning the warrior's mantle in the battle against the COVID-19 pandemic.

 

“This is war of a different kind and the doctors, nurses and staff, who are at the forefront night and day, risking their very lives are the real heroes. We salute the brave medical personnel on the ground,” a press release from the WC, NNPGs stated.

 

"We are humans first, then patriots," declared the press release appended by N Kitovi Zhimomi, Convener WC, &Ato Kilonser, GPRN/NSCN; Zhopra Vero, Co-Convener WC &Kedallo, NNC/FGN; Y Wangtin Naga, Co-Convener WC & President, NSCN (R); HozhetoChophy, Co-Convener WC &AtoKilonser, NNC/NPGN; KiumukamYimchunger, Co-Convener, WC & President, NNC/GDRN; Toshi Walling, Co-Convener, WC & Gen. Secy, NNC (Parent Body); Isak Sumi, Co-Convener, WC & Gen. Secy, GPRN/NSCN (K).

 

It further appreciated the Nagaland Government and various law enforcing agencies working in tandem to ensure that the dreaded virus is kept at bay. At this time we appeal to all Naga town/colony/sector GBs, elders, village headmen/chieftains/councils to stay alert and follow the advice of medical professionals, it stated.

 

“The magnitude of infections and death from Asia to Europe to America and to the rest of the world is so devastating and widespread, it is killing people regardless of international boundaries, nationalities, race, creed religion or status. It is shutting down economies, erasing trillions of dollars, forcing the rich and the poor; enemies and friends; the foolish and the wise to look beyond their demographies, national flags and constitutions,” the WC stated.

 

Pointing out that the Naga people, spread across Indian states, Myanmar and around the world, the WC, NNPGs said it was“convinced that only God Almighty has the power and authority to control the raging seas, winds, pestilences, diseases and death. Let us seek the Lord.”
