Week-long livelihood training concludes

Dimapur, February 20 (MExN): Missionaries and seminary students from different mission fields in Nagaland, Assam, Uttarakhand, Arunachal, Meghalaya, Uttar Pradesh and Nepal came together to receive a week-long live-in Livelihood Training for Economic Stability at Life Ministry Learning Centre(LMLC), Naga United Village.

Held in two batches—the first from December 13-17 and second from February 7-12, the training was conducted with the aim to provide livelihood skills on economic stability to encourage holistic mission, according to a press release from the LMLC.

The participants had a packed week and gained various skills on holistic mission, sustenance farming composting and gardening, mushroom cultivation, fruit preservation, handmade soap making, confectionery bakery and biscuits, pickle making, basic first aid and micro business with both practical and theoretical sessions, and interactive participation towards a self-sufficient life, it said.

The release stated that the mission of LMLC is to discover and unpack the potential of what nature can produce to achieve an abundant life. God’s creation and human being is packed with numerous potential and the LMLC strives to empower displaced and marginalized farmers, rural community leaders including religious leaders, differently abled-persons, senior citizens, self-help groups, women, unemployed youth and seminary students with basic knowledge of nature’s potential and develop relevant skill sets needed to create an abundant life, it said.

The third training is tentatively set for March 15-19, it added.
