Lack of qualified teachers:
• Government teachers are well qualified but have no discipline and lack of commitment
• Lack of qualified teaching staff as a result of qualified teacher not present in his or her posting place
• Teachers are the one who always come late and never doing their work on times. That is why our parents they don’t want to admit their own children.
Poor infrastructure (labs, libraries, classrooms):
• Infrastructure is very poor particularly in rural areas of the state. How many schools have libraries and labs? How can students learn about subjects like Science without labs? Where are the libraries? The absences of such infrastructure have resulted in poor learning environment and absence of enabling conditions for holistic education.
• Proper smart classrooms, computer laboratories, science laboratories and library with library professionals can boost the overall performance of the government schools.
• The poor performance can be because of the negligence of both teacher and a student and the kind of environment that they are in can also be a factor leading to poor performance of both teacher and student.
Low student attendance & high dropout rates:
Other (specify):
• A bug named- Apathy. Blame it on the bug Apathy, a silent intruder that’s made itself very comfortable in our State Education Department. It loiters in the Directorate, snoozes with district officers, sips chai with project directors, and even gets VIP seats in budget meetings. The real pandemic isn’t underfunding. Its apathy dressed in official badges. But sure, let’s keep filing reports. Apathy loves paperwork. While classrooms patiently wait for supplies and children gaze at blank blackboards, apathy thrives, is peaceful, and is frequently facilitated. - SM
• 1). Lack of guidance and studies 2). Teachers not performing duties well. 3). Students loss interest because they can't do through reading properly. 4). Lack of teachers in the school as Government started to practice Students-Teachers ratio instead of Subjects-Teachers ratio in distributing teachers for particular School. 5). Teachers are transferred along with- post.
• 1. Teachers are often caught up in internal staff conflicts, which lead to lack of interest in actual teaching. 2. Proxy teachers affected education quality. 3. Focused on memorisation over conceptual understanding.
• 1. Teachers are the problem not the students, students comes to school regularly. 2. Teachers irregularities, comes to school but not attending class. 3. Teachers should be recruited through interview/Exam.
• Domestic helpers and very economically low class kids are the students of government schools. They can't coup up with the lessons and can't effort extra tuitions.
• Due to job security apathy of the teachers and staff of the school
• Due to proxy teachers who are not qualified.
• English language should be made 100% compulsory in schools. Government teachers uses their local dialect or even nagamese while explaining, likewise students also understands well when their own dialect is used. It may be helpful for a short time being but in the long run students can’t even understand what the question in the exams is actually implying to, if it’s not to the Point the Invigilator cannot help but deduct marks.
• Every aspect is equally a part to be blamed; the main drawback is the mindset of the people. Change the mindset and see the change
• Good students always opt for private schools. Government schools are the last resort for admissions
• Government schools often adopt a more autonomous approach to learning, where students are encouraged to take ownership of their education. In contrast, private schools tend to provide more personalized support and guidance, which can lead to better academic outcomes. This difference in approach may contribute to the disparity in performance between government and private schools.
• I see it as a lack of dire commitment on the part of the teachers and students. Firstly, government teachers have the potential to drive students to success if they really put their mind and soul into their teaching career. Well, the students' role is perhaps to have a desire to be moulded by teachers while being actively responsive. For that, the teacher is responsible to arouse that desire in the students!
• Insincerity of teachers.
• Lack for parental care firstly. Most of the children sent to government schools are either helpers in someone's house and some who cannot afford private education also send their children to government schools and most of the times they don't even bother about their children's education drowned in their own struggles. Another major reason is the government teachers. No matter how much the people fight, there are still many government teachers who do not come for their work at all or some doesn't take it serious. Lastly, none of us send our children to government schools, for whatever reasons as stated already, so we cannot expect any improvement in government Schools. There are many other issues as well besides all these.
• Lack of commitment from teaching faculty, also the lack of awareness the value of education from the grassroot level
• Lack of initiative by government employees and politician; No government employee and politician are sending their children to government school; Compulsory one children/Student into government school for government employees and politician should be made compulsory.
• Lack of providing quality education at the foundation level. Also lack of proper support from family and environment.
• Less attention is given at primary level thinking they are young so won't understand English. When a private school teaches in English at primary level why can't government schools do the same even at primary level?
• Low working hours and less motivated students due to other administrative lapses on the part of government departments.
• No detention policy, students are promoted even if they fail in so many subjects. Three phase exams is conducted for 40 marks, if they fail re-exam again and again until they pass so to avoid conducting exam again and again many a times they are randomly passed... blame the policy.
• No doubt teachers are well qualified in government schools… but despite SMILE app being launched many teachers are still keeping others as their replacement playing with students education which is heartbreaking
• Not strict regarding discipline and studies
• Only by 2025 due to SMILE app teachers are regular to their classes otherwise proxy system and irregularity, uncovered syllabus, lack of proper guidance has been the basic reason.
• Poor maintenance. And lack of sense of belongingness.
• Poor upbringing in the lower classes
• Same teachers teaching in the same school with the same method of teaching. Transfer those teachers who are enjoying their posting place for almost 10 years and above and replace with young energetic dynamic performing teachers of today's modern AI era adapted teachers.
• Shortage of staff
• Teachers failed to perform their duties.
• The teachers are well qualified, teaching the students well, giving lot of efforts but the students are not studying at home at the same time, the parents' are lacking behind.
• There are several factors which have affected the results of government schools. Let us not put all the blames on teachers.
• There is no proper infrastructure and pretty much most drop outs from private schools are getting admitted in government schools. We can’t blame anyone in particular! It’s equally everyone and everything is questionable!
