
Dimapur, October 6 (MExN): The weeklong celebration of Wildlife Week in Nagaland Zoological Park (NZP) culminated with a programme organised in collaboration with Forestry Graduates Association of Nagaland (FGAN) on October 6.
P. Aienla Longkumer, Principal of Government Higher Secondary School graced the programme as the special guest, stated a press release issued by Obed Bohovi Swu, Director, NZP.
The weeklong programme in the NZP included free entry for children and students in the park from October 2 to 5. Guided tours for students were conducted all through the week.
The celebration also included cleanliness drive inside the Zoo by students from Honili Memorial Higher Secondary School, Lhomithi Village.
The programme was attended by students of Government Higher Secondary School, Singrijan. The programme included slide presentation on ‘Endemic and endangered wild fauna of Nagaland’ and screening of wildlife film in the morning session. Quiz competition was conducted in the afternoon session.
The main highlight of the culmination programme was the facilitation of all the Animal Keepers of Nagaland Zoological Park by the management.
Amur Falcon Watch Tower in Y Anner Village
The Thründan Tourist &Eco Club (TT&EC)of Y Anner village celebrated the Wildlife Week at Y. Awün Kebeak on October 6. To mark the celebration, TT&EC also started the construction of Amur Falcon watch tower to welcome Amur Falcon. The watch tower area will witness the presence of big cat and other wildlife such as monkeys, Stag, Deer etc.
