DIMAPUR, JULY 14 (MExN): The Lotha Eloe Hoho organized a one-day workshop on the usage of traditional attires for women at Lotha Hoho Ki, Wokha on July 14. The event aimed to create awareness and promote the significance of traditional attire among the younger generation, a DIPR report stated.  

Deputy Commissioner, Wokha, Ajit Kumar Ranjan addressing the workshop commended the efforts of the Lotha Eloe Hoho in organizing such events and emphasized the importance of preserving cultural practices to uphold tradition and identity. He also encouraged the efficient use of traditional handlooms, artifacts, and attires to sustain livelihoods.

Special guest, Loyibeni Kitha, urged all women to cooperate with the Lotha Eloe Hoho in their initiative to preserve and promote Lotha women's traditional attires. She emphasized the need to understand the significance of all attire and use them appropriately to safeguard the community's identity.

The program included Mhalo TM Lotha reading out the regulations on the usage of Lotha women's traditional attires. Abeni ET Ezung, Limomo Jami (representative of Lotha Hoho), and District Cultural Officer, Zuthungo Yanthan also delivered short speeches during the event.

The workshop, organized by the Lotha Eloe Hoho, provided an opportunity for Lotha women to learn about and appreciate their rich cultural heritage through the proper usage of traditional attires. It emphasized the importance of preserving and promoting Lotha women's traditional attire to ensure the continuity of their unique identity, the DIPR report stated.
