Dimapur, June 20 (MExN): The Western Sumi Hoho has on Saturday expressed ‘surprise’ at the Nagaland state Cabinet's “inability to give a decision on the report of the Tuensang fiasco,” and claimed that “It shows the weakness and lack of strong leadership decision in all these quagmire.”
In a press release on June 20, the WSH questioned the use of appointing a JIC to probe the fiasco “if the state government cannot table the contents and necessary action be taken thereafter according to the report.” “Is it to save some political figures in the present ministry or some bureaucrats who have strong links with them?” it questioned and claimed that it was “only a wastage of time, energy and resources and an eye wash to hoodwink the people.”
On the delimitation issue, the WSH extended support to the Chakhro Public Organisation's stand and asserted that delimitation be implemented without delay. “The present allotment of seats district wise is gross injustice and unfair to some tribes of Nagaland,” it said while adding that each district should be allotted legislative seats accordingly as per the appropriate population of the district.
