WSH reiterates non-cooperation resolution on NSCN (Khango) issue

Dimapur, February 1 (MExN): The Western Sumi Hoho has said that it would support the process of reconciliation,to unify the two splinter groups of NSCN/GPRN (K) - one headed by Khango Konyak, and the other led by Isak Sumi.

It, however, reaffirmed its January 5 resolution to impose “indefinite non-cooperation” to the NSCN (Khango) group within the jurisdiction of the western Sumi area in the districts of Dimapur, Chümoukedima and Niuland.

The resolution will be implemented by refusing to entertain any sort of taxation or voluntary donation until the revocation of the ‘indefinite non-cooperation’ by the WSH, stated a release from WSH Vice-President AtomiSwu and General Secretary Kisheto on Wednesday.

According to the WSH, since its establishment in 1980, the Hoho has strived to live up to its motto of ‘Peace & Unity.’ As such, it asserted its support towards the reconciliation process initiated by the Nagaland Tribes Council (NTC) and Nagaland GB Federation (NGBF) to unify the two groups.

“There is peace when there is unity, and unity is there when there is reconciliation,” it said while adding that there is no issue which cannot be ironed out by sitting across the table.
The release also stated that the Hoho “is in receipt of the apology letter tendered by the Commander of western command, GPRN/NSCN (Khango) addressed to the President WSH, the content of which is in the process of being scrutinized.”

In the meantime, it urged the President and the General Secretary of the NSCN/GPRN (K) to refrain from using the ceasefire monitoring office at Thilixu village till the revocation of the ‘indefinite non-cooperation’ by the WSH.
