Kohima, July 2 (MExN): The Zhadima Students’ Union (ZSU) organised a felicitation programme cum career guidance for the meritorious students of the recently declared High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) examination results at Zhadima community hall on July 1.

Ruokuovizo Chüpuo, Senior Program Officer, Directorate of Information Technology & Communication graced the felicitation programme as the speaker. Inspiring the audience, the officer motivated students to adopt a forward-thinking perspective regarding their future goals and aspirations. He emphasized that two key emotions, namely joy and fear, significantly influence individuals' life choices and experiences.

Chüpuo urged students to reflect on the factors that bring them happiness as well as the things they fear in life. He encouraged them to recognize these aspects at an early stage and take proactive steps towards them. By doing so, he believed they would develop a clearer vision of the individuals they aspire to become as they grow older.

The IT expert discussed opportunities for students to delve into cutting-edge fields such as nanotechnology, neuroscience, information technology, and others. Emphasizing the increasing significance of these subjects, he highlighted their expansive potential in the coming years.

He presented a challenge to students to embrace a healthy lifestyle, diligently work towards their goals, and adequately prepare themselves for future challenges. Stressing the importance of hard work, he advised them to exert their best efforts and seek God's blessings to achieve their goal.

At the felicitation programme, Neilalhoulie Soliezuo, Chairman, Zhadima Village Council pondered upon the significant changes in the lives of students in comparison to the past. Acknowledging the advancements in technology, he highlighted the abundant knowledge accessible to students at the mere click of a button.

Soliezuo emphasized the importance of utilizing technology wisely to augment knowledge and skills. However, he also cautioned students to be mindful of the potential drawbacks and negative effects that technology can bring.

During the career guidance seminar, Dr Avinuo Chüpuo, Head of the Department of History, St Joseph University was the resource person. She delivered a comprehensive presentation on the diverse range of subjects available for study and the corresponding career opportunities associated with each field.

Dr Chüpuo stressed the importance of prioritizing mental well-being alongside physical health in the current era. Recognizing the significance of maintaining a balanced and healthy state of mind, she encouraged students to place emphasis on their mental health.

Additionally, she offered advice to students, emphasizing the importance of obedience and respect towards their parents. She highlighted the role of parents in guiding and supporting their children's educational and personal growth.

Another resource person, Sedevilhou Chüpuo, an educator at Zhadima Government High School imparted insights on discovering and creating employment opportunities within the village. Encouraging the students, he emphasized the importance of not only putting in hard work but also employing smart strategies. He conveyed the significance of utilizing innovative approaches, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills to enhance their chances of success in the job market.

Along with the meritorious students, their parents, teachers, church leaders, and village leaders attended the one-day event.
