Longleng DPDB meeting discusses poor infrastructure at GHSS Tamlu

Longleng, August 7 (DIPR): The Longleng District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner Y Denngan Avennoho Phom on August 7 at DC’s Conference Hall, Longleng.  

The Chairman welcomes the members present and asked the new members for self introduction to the house. Emphasizing on the duties and responsibility of the officers the DC said that every officer are appointed for the purpose with a responsibility, and therefore, it is the duty of the officer concern to discharge their assigned duties with responsibility for the welfare of the people by being in their respective place of posting. He lamented that the DC cannot remind again and again to be in their place of posting and discharge their duties which is known by the officer concern.   Denngan also informed the members that problems of land encroachment have been reported to the district administration. He appealed to the officers to report such cases to the administration to report the matter to the higher authority for action. The DC also thanked the HODs for contribution towards the renovation of the Changtongya Longleng road. He appraised the house regarding improvement of the road after the renovation.  

The ADC Tamlu highlighted the poor infrastructure and absences of math teachers in GHS Tamlu. He informed that the problem was disclosed when he visited the School after taking over as the new ADC in Tamlu. He asked the concern department to redress the issues for the welfare of the students. Supplementing to the ADC, the EAC Tamlu said that the GHS Tamlu was functioning without a math teacher since 2013. He suggested forwarding the grievances of the school to the authority concern through the DPDB for immediate action. In this regard the house agreed to forward the case after a lengthy discussion with the DEO.  

The house approved the proposal for upgradation of St. Thomas School Tamlu from class VIII to X after highlighting the status of the school by the principal. The ADC Tamlu and DEO Longleng also supplemented to the principal and said that the school has fulfilled the criteria required for up-gradation.  

Earlier, during the review of the last meeting minutes the EAC Yongnyah and EAC Longleng reported their action taken for up-gradation of EAC Head Quarter Yongnyah to SDO Civil, and establishment of new EAC Head Quarter at Namching. Both the EAC’s inform the house that they have submitted the status report as required by the Government for approval and necessary action. The EAC Longleng also reported on the renovation of Changtongya road and urged the defaulting departments who are yet to submit their contribution for the renovation of the road to submit at the earliest to the administration.  

The house also resolved to organize mass social work in the entire district including the sub-divisions for the ensuing Independence Day celebration 2017. Later the work distribution for the Independence Day was also done. The meeting concluded with a vote of thank by the chairman.
