Sangma, Laskar agree to strengthen Cong Minority Department in North East

    Shillong, August 6 (MExN): All Indian Congress Committee (AICC) Minority Observer for Meghalaya Rejaul Karim Laskar visited Shillong on August 5.   The purpose of the visit was to hold discussions with the Chief Minister Mukul Sangma, who is also the Convenor of North East Congress Coordination Committee, regarding the campaign strategy of the Congress party for the coming legislative assembly elections and to sort out details about the role of the Minority Department of the Congress party in the election campaign, stated a press release from Laskar.   Laskar met Chief Minister Mukul Sangma at the Chief Minister's residence in Shillong on August 5. Both the leaders had a “detailed and fruitful” discussion regarding the campaign strategy of the party for the coming legislative elections. It was agreed that the Minority Department will play a robust role in the election campaign.   The two leaders also agreed to take all the necessary measures to strengthen the Minority Department of the Congress party in North East so as to enable it to play a robust role in election campaign, the release added. In the evening, Laskar left Shillong for Guwahati.
