Barak FC, St Joseph’s College and Kohima Eagles SC today registered wins in their respective matches in the ongoing 23rd Classic Cup here at the Kohima Local Ground.
In the first match of the day, St. Joseph’s College defeated Renegades FC 3-0. Peleviko opened the account for St Joseph’s College in the 26th second and recorded the fastest goal of the tournament. Tamthing contributed two goals for the team in the 8th and 28th minutes.
Meanwhile, Kohima Eagles SC defeated Upper Bayavu FC 3-1. Petevizo netted two goals for Kohima Eagles in the 2nd and 7th minute while Kimiyito Assumi scored another goal for the team in the 30th minute. A lone goal for Upper Bayavu FC came through Kethosilie in the 40th minute.
In another match, Barak FC overpowered Kohima College Kohima 6-3 via tie-breaker after the match ended 2-2 draw within the stipulated full time play. Elminhao fetched two goals for Barak FC in the 19th and 21st minutes while Vilhoubeituo Yhome also scored two goals for Kohima College in the 40th and 60th minutes.
Barak FC scored 4 goals while Kohima College scored 1 goal in the ensuing penalty shoot- out.
