FC Chizami United, St. Joseph’s College and Foster’s FC entered the quarter-finals of the 23rd Classic Cup after winning their respective pre-quarter final matches at the Kohima Local Ground today.
FC Chizami United prevailed over Kezekevi FC in a match decided by tie-breaker. Following a goalless 90 minutes, Chizami went on to pump in 4 as against Kezekevi’s 3 in the penalty shootout.
Foster’s FC defeated Sporting Club in the second match of the day which was also decided via penalty shootout. The teams were deadlocked 1-1 at full time with Foster’s prevailing 5-4 in the tie-breaker.
Kensington opened the account for Foster’s in the 45th minute, while Sporting Club’s Singh struck the equaliser in the 47th minute.
St. Joseph’s College defeated EIMI United 4-1 in the third match of the day. Menose and Pelevikho struck in the 14th and 45th minute followed by Tamthing netting two in the second half. Janghao scored the lone goal for EIMI United.
