DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 8 (MExN): 90.8 Hills FM, Nagaland’s first community radio station, marked its fourth anniversary on Monday, commemorating four years of broadcasting and community service since its establishment on September 8, 2022.
Operating under the tagline “The Voice of Change,” the station has worked with government departments, organisations and community groups to provide information, education, entertainment and platforms for community engagement.
Over the past four years, 90.8 Hills FM has conducted awareness programmes and campaigns on issues including environmental and forest conservation, public health, road safety, disaster preparedness, sanitation, culture, education and social welfare.
The station said it has also used social media and other digital platforms alongside radio to expand its outreach and make relevant information more accessible to the public.
Beyond its broadcasting activities, the station has provided a platform for local voices, artists, musicians, young people and community initiatives, promoting local talent and community stories.
As it enters its fifth year, 90.8 Hills FM said it remains committed to strengthening partnerships, expanding its outreach and using community radio to encourage positive change.
The station also expressed gratitude to its listeners, partners, contributors and supporters for being part of its journey over the past four years.
