Dimapur, April 16 (MExN): The apex body of the Ao Baptist Churches Conference (ABAM) in a press release on Wednesday said, “we feel a great deal of compunction to have the second phase of lock-down in India, but if that was the only solution at this critical juncture, we cannot show our repugnance to the decision but let us comply with the instruction of the administration in all feasible ways to keep us safe.”
ABAM Executive Secretary, Rev Dr Mar Atsongchanger stated that “it has been intricate weeks as we have been forced to adopt a new way of worshiping God, but we believe that we have had wonderful house worship time and are blessed with. We know that this pandemic will come to an end very soon and we will resume with all our daily activities soon.”
ABAM encouraged the churches, families and individuals stating “though we are not able to come to every church physically, but knowing that we are knitted together in Christ, we believe that together in the same spirit we fight and will surely conquer with the help of God. Let us say come what may, we will overcome and lift the name of God on high. ABAM keeps its hope that, good and brighter days await.
It also acknowledged the churches, families and individuals who have participated in the 22 days of chain of prayer organized by it in regard with COVID-19. “Though the chain of prayer completes today (April 15), ABAM urges every individual to incessantly pray for God’s protection and help from this COVID-19 pandemic.”
