Wokha, April 17 (MExN): Advisor for Horticulture and Border Affairs, Mhathung Yanthan visited Lakhuti and Sungro PHCs in Wokha to monitor COVID-19 preparedness on April 16. He interacted with medical officers and nurses at the health units.
During the interaction, Yanthan advised the health workers to educate the villagers on the disease and make them aware of hand washing and social distancing. Chief Medical Officer Wokha, Dr CW Tungoe informed the health workers that the referral transport of COVID patients from one district to another is not allowed once admitted to the hospital.
The Advisor donated masks, sanitizers and IEC materials in the local language to the health units. CMO Wokha lauded the administration and police for supporting the medical staffs and advised for more co-ordination to create awareness.
Earlier the Advisor and CMO Wokha also visited other health units and police check posts in Bhandari and Sanis along with Dy CM Y Patton, Wokha DC, SP and MLA Dr Chumben Murry.
