Kohima, June 21 (MExN): The AEF Council Ward-17 in Kohima today issued a notification with directives to the sub-councils for implementation. The notification issued by NZ Makritsu, Chairman, AEF Council Ward-17, Kohima stated that the colony is a place where the people coming from different places are living together like a village under the umbrella of the council. It is the responsibility of the sub-councils under AEF Council (17 Ward) to maintain peaceful co-existence, neat and cleanliness in the colony by complying and implementing the directives of the District Administration, KMC and police for the better living of all, the Chairman added. Sale of Liquor Sale of liquor in the colony is strictly prohibited as “it is harmful to health, brings immorality and sometimes disturbs the peaceful co-existence,” the directive said. Hence, all the sub-councils under AEF Council were requested to check and take necessary action. Road blockage and wrong parking of vehicles Stating that traffic congestion is becoming problematic in the Colony Circular Roads due to wrong parking of vehicles, dumping of old vehicles and construction materials on the roadside, the sub-councils were requested to check the same and take action. “If anyone is found not obeying the directives, it should be reported to the higher authority to take necessary action,” the notification added. Gathering of youths at night The directive also mentioned that the district administration and police are concerned that youths are found gathering in the junctions at night, which is not encouraging and needs to be checked and stop. Therefore, all the sub-councils were requested to check and take necessary steps to stop such gathering at night. Shops to remain close on Sundays All the sub-councils were requested not to allow shopkeepers to open their shop on Sundays in their respective jurisdiction. It also requested the shopkeepers to keep the premises neat and clean. All the sub-councils under AEF Council Kohima (17 Ward) were requested to implement the above mentioned directives on or before July 5, 2018. The outcome of the action taken and difficulties in implementing shall be discussed in the combined meeting of AEF Council and sub-council office bearers later, the notification added.
