As a mark of resentment against the ‘insensitive and adamant attitude’ of the Government of Nagaland and NHIDCL towards their demand for realignment of the road from the zero point for about a kilometre in the National Highway between Changtongya and Longleng, leaders of the Akhoya Youth Organisation (AYO) staged a protest on January 15. The demand for realignment is in order to ensure safety and wider junction and better gradient, as per the AYO. It may be noted that the PWD (NH) Nagaland also wrote to the State government in support of the realignment proposal earlier.
