Alpine Concern organises 5th Education Fair in Dimapur

In a bid to provide consultation and recommendation on pursuing a wide variety of courses for newly passed out students, Alpine Concern organised an education fair at Hotel Acacia, Dimapur on May 9. 

The fair had representatives of various educational institutions from India and abroad who provided the students with the information on available courses at their respective campuses.  These included, Rai University, De Montfort University (Dubai campus), Nehru Group of Institutions, Tamil Nadu, Takshashila University, Alliance University, East Point of Institutions, International Management of Sports College, Pimpri Chinchwad University, Pune, RiG Institute of Hotel Management, Uttaranchal University, Mount Olive Culinary and Hospitality Management, Shillong, Apeejay Satya University and Gulzar Group of Institutes. 

Keeping in mind the recently declared results for Class 12 board exams, Akang Ao, Managing Director (MD) of Alpine Concern, said that the fair acts as an avenue for the students to come, learn and interact with institutional representatives on what courses they are offering. 

This is the fifth time we are organising the education fair, the MD stated with previous ones held at Kohima and across Dimapur. But besides 12th passed students, there were also diploma and undergraduate students as well looking to pursue higher educational or professional courses. Several of the courses offered ranged from IT, Business, Hospitality, Aviation, Architecture, Law, Media, Arts, Humanities, Science among others. 

Interacting with a teacher from Government Polytechnic Institute, Seithekema C who accompanied her students to the fair, she revealed that a common feedback was the high cost of education on courses provided by the institutions. 

On this note, the MD mentioned that while pursuing higher education abroad or in other states of India can be expensive affair, there were various scholarship programmes available to the students. These education fairs will provide all the necessary information required by the students before making their decision, so it is important that they should not miss such valuable opportunities, he viewed. 

Jayachandra C Director of International relationships and representative from De Montfort University, Dubai campus meanwhile shared that for students wishing to studying abroad, Dubai has become a great option for pursing courses in Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering etc. “The UAE government has created a very flexible option for getting a Visa to their country, with a view that bright minds can build a career and contribute once they complete their course,” he reported. 

As such, being a part of the fair and interacting with the students showed him that there was a lot of potential in this part of the region which needed to be utilized. “Studying abroad in Dubai one can learn and build relationships with a diverse range of International students who comes from across the world,” he said.
