Pangti, October 3 (MExN): The Amur Falcon roosting area has been reopened for tourists from this month after 2 years. 

The Amur Falcon Roosting Area Union (AFRAU) Pangti Village informed that it reopened in October after remaining shut for 2 years in view of the State Government’s “failure to provide infrastructural activities in Pangti Village.”

In a press release, AFRAU President Thungchumo Shidio also assured that if the State Government provides basic amenities and infrastructural activities pertaining to the Amur Falcon within Pangti Village in the near future, the union would strengthen its effort conserve and protect the Falcons. 

Shidio also told The Morung Express on Sunday that they are expecting the Amur Falcons, the longest travelling raptors in the world, to arrive by next week. 

The AFRAU Pangti welcome all the visitors who come to witness the roosting of Amur Falcons in Pangti Village which is known as ‘The Falcon Capital Of The World,’ the release added. 

Terms and conditions for reopening 
Meanwhile, the AFRAU informed that the intending tourists must follow all existing guidelines and precautions on COVID-19 during their visits. 
“All COVID-19 related protocols will be strictly followed and officials were instructed to ensure that all the domestic, national and international tourists adhere to the norms,” it said. 

It further stated that there will be only one entry point i.e. Raphapen Junction and entry by boat/motorboat from Doyang Dam would be strictly restricted.

Hunting materials and crackers will be strictly prohibited within the demarcated area and every vehicle movement between Raphapen and Roosting Area would be strictly restricted from 4-5 pm, it informed. 

“Noisy vehicles either 2 wheelers or 4 wheelers as well as motorboats will be strictly restricted from 4:00 pm to 6:00 am,” the AFRAU added. 
The union also informed that every groups of visitors will be provided one guide from the AFRAU with a charge of Rs.1000. The visitors are also informed to contact AFRAU for homestay.

Throwing of single use plastic and waste materials within Amur Falcon Roosting Area will be strictly prohibited. It should be bought back to the entry point, it added.
