Angami Students Emergency Centre formed for stranded students

KOHIMA, APRIL 17 (MExN): An Angami Students Emergency Centre has been formed in order to help students stranded in different parts of the country due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent lockdown.
The centre has been formed collectively by various Students Unions including the Angami Students Union Delhi (ASUD), Angami Students Union Bangalore (ASUB), Angami Students Union Shillong (ASUS) and Angami Kephrünuoko Krotho Guwahati (AKKG).
“While the government of the day is doing its best to reach out to these stranded students, it is also our duty and responsibility to help one another in these trying times. At this challenging and uncertain time, it is imperative for each one of us to rise above our own interests and honour our duty towards our country, state and indeed towards humanity,” a press release from the centre stated.
The centre has been formed to provide a means of contact and assist Angami students who are stranded across different cities. It expressed gratitude to the Nagaland House officials in different cities who are actively reaching out and assisting those in need. It also thanked the various NSU’s in different cities for their help and assistance to the Nagas in general and the Angamis in particular.
