Kohima, November 12 (MExN): 32 Assam Rifles organized a drawing competition on the theme ‘Clean and Green Environment’ at Government Primary School, Kacharigaon, Dimapur district on November 6. The aim of the event was to spread awareness and benefits of a clean and green environment and to identify the skills of budding talents, stated a press release from Lt Col Amitabh Sharma, PRO, HQ IGAR (North). 15 students participated in the competition and produced imaginative and artistic paintings, it added. The event was followed by felicitation of students who bagged the first, second and third positions in the competition.
40 Assam Rifles meanwhile organized ‘Hunters Conclave’ to make the hunters aware of security related issues in the “operationally sensitive” Indo-Myanmar border region of Mon at Jakphang and Wangti. AR invited the local hunters and discussed the importance of safe handling of firearms, maintaining high standards of alertness and prior intimation to Security Forces regarding the movement of hunters with firearms to avoid any mishaps.
7 AR interact with citizens in Kiphire
Dimapur, November 12 (MExN): The 7 Assam Rifles under aegis of Headquarters IGAR (North) conducted an interaction with Citizens Welfare Association, Kiphire on November 11.
The interaction was part of its relentless initiative to engage in citizens’ welfare in a meaningful manner, an AR press note informed. The interaction focused on local issues to include development, education, awareness campaign, health and hygiene
A total of 13 members of Citizens Welfare Association (CWA), Kiphire including its President attended the meeting chaired by Colonel Veerandra Tiwari, Commandant of AR, it said.
Special emphasis was given to the problems faced by the people in the region, it added.
