Kohima, November 11 (MExN): Assam Rifles battalions under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) conducted operations in various places of Nagaland and apprehended four people. 3 (Naga Hills) Battalion Assam Rifles apprehended one person during an operation conducted at Daklane in Kohima district along with a police representative on November 9, informed a press release from Lt Col Amitabh Sharma, PRO, HQ IGAR(North). He has been identified as Sunil Kumar Yadav (29). Various items, including Rs. 23,500/- in cash, vehicle tax receipts, Naga Political Groups’ cash receipt and work permit, were recovered from him, the release said. The individual along with the recovered items was subsequently handed over to North Police Station for further investigation. Meanwhile, 28 Assam Rifles conducted a search operation in Bhandari under Wokha district on November 9 and apprehended two persons along with 360 bottles of Mc Dowell Rum, 720 cans of beer, and 240 bottles of Vodka, the PRO said in another press release. The liquor is worth around Rs. 1,95,000, it was informed. The apprehended persons identified as Libenthung (29) and Paul Odyuo (30) with the recovered items were handed over to Bhandari Police Station. 28 Assam Rifles also conducted a search operation in Doyang, Wokha district along with police representative on November 9. During the search, the AR troops apprehended one person along with .22 mm pistol (locally made with marking Made in USA), one magazine, five live rounds, 21 Samprx Tablets and Indian currency amounting Rs 7426/-, the PRO said. Identified as Rhanpenthung Enny (35), the apprehended person along with the recovered items was handed over to Wokha Police station for further investigation, it was added.
