Urges all to avoid any social gatherings
DIMAPUR, APRIL 19 (MExN): The Ao Senso Lanur Telongjem (ASTD) has expressed concern at the misuse of social media and appealed from all against the spread of rumours that may cause panic among the people.
A press release from the ASTD President L Wati Jamir and General Secretary, K Mar Lemtur expressed resentment over the “unfortunate but palpable incident of inhuman treatment meted out to some non-locals at Vidima Village and also the video clip where migrant labourers were stopped by some person and their body temperatures were taken with a car music player.”
“This sent a very wrong message of racial discrimination in the minds of the people,” the ASTD said.
It further referred to reports that some faith based religious organisations/groups have been defying the government’s directives and guidelines by organising mass gatherings and religious services in the State.
To this, the ASTD stated: ‘We the human beings living on the Earth must remember and realise on priority basis and endeavour to protect and save one’s physical life than to redeem our spiritual faith, only then sanctify ourselves towards God’s Kingdom.”
It urged all to refrain from spreading panic as well as abstain from any social gatherings, while strictly following theCOVID-19 lockdown of social distancing.
