Atoizu Range Students’ Union celebrates golden jubilee

Atoizu Tokujo Kiphimi Kuqhakulu (Atoizu Range Students’ Union) held its golden jubilee celebration at Atoizu Town under the theme, ‘Ikukitheni’ (Resurge) on December 29 and 30.

Addressing the gathering on December 30 evening, APC Nagaland, Y Kikheto Sema paid rich tributes to the pioneers of Atoizu area in the likes of Heikhu Shikhu, Khelhoshe, Shikiho etc and called for cherishing their contribution to the society not only for the area for the Naga people.

Stating that Atoizu area had produced prominent Naga leaders, Kikheto said that the ‘balance sheet’ of earlier times, in terms of providing mass leadership, was much better than contemporary times and encouraged the younger generation to give their best to fare better.

“Our theme is to ‘resurge’, so we should live up to our theme by being in the footsteps of our erstwhile leaders and lead our people. To go up in life, first we need to be humble and the more we go up in life we need to stoop like the bamboo,” he added.

He emphasized on the need for the younger generation to look forward by being positive, thinking positive and behaving positively.  

The introduction session was graced by Er Hukato Shohe, President, Atoizu Tokujo Kukami Kuqhakulu and former president, ARSU.

Speaking on the function, Er Hukato encouraged the students to focus on excellence because the world is fast changing and only the best would stand a chance. He also stressed on the importance of quality education and the responsibilities of the students to uplift the society toward the better future.

The other highlights of the function were greeting message addressed by Dr Pihoto Khala, Rtd Director, Animal Husbandary & Vety Services and Hutoshe Kits, President, SKK.

Highlight of the function also included Invocation by Daniel Zhimo, Pastor, ATBC (Nito Mount), welcome speech by Hewoto Aye, GB, Atoizu Town, Special number by Vilo Yepthomi, Souvenir opening by Rev Ahoto Awomi, Evangelist, SBAK (Nito Mount) and ended with a prayer by Khenito Achumi, Pastor, Imlomi Baptist Church.
