Tsütuonuomia Youth Organisation (TYO) secured a semi-final berth in the 1st Atuo Mezhür Sekhose Super League 2026 after coming from behind to defeat Nurturing Youngsters FC 2-1 at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in Kohima on August 21.
The encounter was the final league match for both teams, with TYO needing a positive result to advance to the knockout stage.
Nurturing Youngsters FC captain Menguzelie Rutsa opened the scoring in the 20th minute to put his side ahead.
TYO responded with an equaliser through Toka Achumi in the 34th minute, sending the teams into the break level at 1-1.
Achumi completed his brace in the 71st minute, scoring the decisive goal to hand TYO a 2-1 victory and secure their place in the semi-finals.
The result brought TYO’s league campaign to an end with four points from four matches, comprising one win, one draw and two defeats.
For Nurturing Youngsters FC, the defeat marked the end of their league campaign. They finished without a point from four matches, having suffered four defeats.
Ruokuovolie Rutsa, Councillor, Ward-3, Kohima Municipal Council, graced the match as the Match Patron.
Kezevituo Vizo officiated as referee, with Mhasikhonuo Paünuo and Medochülie Chütso as Assistant Referees. Michael Dul was the Fourth Official, while Medozevi Punyü served as Match Commissioner.
