Awareness campaign on swine fever held in Zhadima

Officials and others during awareness campaign on African Swine Fever at 10th NAP (IR) Battalion Zhadima on July 19.

Kohima, July 19 (MExN): An awareness campaign on African Swine Fever/Classical Swine Fever in Pigs and Rabies Disease in Dogs was held at 10th NAP (India Reserve) Battalion headquarter Zhadima in Kohima district on July 19.

It was organized by Chief Veterinary Office, Kohima and sponsored by Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services, Nagaland.

The resource persons Dr Aonungla Jamir talked on Classical Swine Fever while Dr Elizabeth Yhome spoke on African Swine Fever.

The programme was chaired by Nikho Venuh, Deputy Commandant (2i/c), 10th NAP (India Reserve) Battalion Headquarter Zhadima.

The team has vaccinated Anti-Rabies vaccination to 50 dogs and distributed free Dewormers, Mineral, Mixtures and treatment and vaccinated classical swine fevers to pig farmers.

10th NAP (IR) commandant Vekhosa Ckg (NPS) thanked the medical team and the Veterinary Department for the initiative they have taken for prevention of the disease and free vaccination of the domesticated animals in the battalion headquarter.
