AYO calls off total lockdown in Kohima

Kohima, April 15 (MExN): The Angami Youth Organization (AYO) today informed that it has called off the total lockdown in Kohima following intervention and request made by the Angami Public Organization.

“Now that the second-phase of the nation-wide lockdown has been extended from April 15 to May 3, we trust that the State government will positively respond to the need of the hour by taking all preventive and safety measures,” an AYO press release stated.

Further, the AYO assured to support the Government as and when its services will be required and said that if there has been any “trust deficit between the AYO and any other party,” we want to make it clear that our intention to impose the total lockdown was for the larger interest of the people, and solely to strengthen the directives laid down by the government.

“The safety of our people is our priority and we are always prepared to go to any extent in rendering our services for the well-being of our people and our land,” the release stated.
