Bhandari bans import of pigs

WOKHA, APRIL 27 (MExN): In view of the Swine Fever disease reported from the State of Assam, especially in Jorhat and Sibsagar, the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Bhandari has banned the import of pigs from outside Bhandari till further notice. 


In an order today, the ADC further informed that any case of Swine Flu/sickness must be immediately reported to the district administration. It further directed anyone who intends to slaughter local reared pigs to mandatorily obtain clearance from the office of the ADC, Bhandari to ensure that the livestock is in good health. 


The order further cautioned that any person found butchering without clearance or selling meat by the roadside violating the COVID-19 lockdown norms will be penalised as per relevant sections of the IPC and the Epidemic Disease Act, 1897.
