Mokokchung, April 22 (MExN): The BJP Mokokchung district today issued a press statement informing that a ‘BJP Mokokchung District COVID-19 Control Centre’ was set up with Nukshi I Ozukum, Vice President, BJP Mokokchung as convener and S Moa Imsong and T Anungla as members. 


The release also informed of the activities taken up by the Unit to mitigate fallout of the nationwide lockdown in the district. 


According to the release, the BJP Mokokchung unit undertook relief work during the first phase of the nationwide lockdown by giving relief materials to the needy people. The relief material was donated by the president of BJP Mokokchung district Imolemba Jamir, Advisor and MLA Dr Longri (district in-charge) and party workers, it said.


The BJP Mokokchung ST Morcha also distributed refreshments to the frontline workers – the police and healthcare workers – and the Minority Morcha of the party also offered free meal to the stranded migrants in Mokokchung town, it said.


District President Imolemba Jamir, who oversaw the whole relief works, assured that the BJP government at the centre and also the party at the grass root level will ensure the wellbeing of the society. He also encouraged all the BJP workers and officials to work tirelessly and contribute, in any way, to the PM CARES fund so as to enable the nation to overcome the threat of the virus.


Meanwhile, BJP Mokokchung district reached out and provided relief in the form of rice and lentils to needy families in the town. In appreciation of the hard work being put in by the ward colonies, the Unit also donated a bag of rice and lentils to the ward councils, it said. 


Further, BJP Mokokchung acknowledged the efforts of the Mokokchung District Task Force, the district administration, the doctors and nurses, the police, the ward and village authorities and all the frontline workers engaged in COVID-19 containment works.
