The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) Northeast II Telecom Circle celebrated the central public undertaking’s silver jubilee at Hotel Saramati, Dimapur on Tuesday, commemorating what was termed to be 25 years of service to the nation. The BSNL, an undertaking of the Union Ministry of Communications, was established on October 1, 2000.
Chief General Manager, NE-II Telecom Circle, N Murali, in his address, traced the BSNL’s evolution from landline telephony to providing indigenous 4G services. According to him, BSNL has always stood at the forefront, even during natural calamities, ensuring uninterrupted communication. He said, “BSNL represents not just business but service and innovation. With our dedicated manpower, we continue to bridge the digital divide across the nation.”
He noted the launch of BSNL’s indigenous 4G services across India, inaugurated by the Prime Minister on September 27, 2025. In the NE-II Circle, comprising Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Nagaland, 1,000 towers have already been commissioned, while another 969 are under construction.
Other speakers included K Sajal (IP&TAFS), Jt CCA; Dilip Siram (ITS), PGM; and Sandeep Bhardwaj (ITS), DDG.
The cultural segment featured an Angami Naga folk song by Meyacalie, a special number by Moajungla Jamir, a dance by Shrestha Dey and an Ao Naga folk dance by the Aohadang Cultural Club.
To commemorate the Silver Jubilee, BSNL employees across NE-II Circle also organised activities including community service, tree plantation, cultural programmes, and customer outreach events.
