Dimapur, April 11 (MExN): CAN Youth on Saturday distributed relief material to 450 households in Neisatuo Colony, Khermahal under Ward No. 10, Namgalong Colony under Ward No. 5, Burma Camp and Darogajan Village.

 

The relief in the form of essential commodities like rice, potatoes, soaps, as well as gloves and masks etc was distributed to the children and adolescents whose parents are mostly migrant workers, daily wagers, construction workers, small time vendors and drivers, a press release from CAN Youth coordinator Sentiwati stated.

 

Along with the relief materials, community members were also apprised of various schemes of the Government of India. Children and adolescents were also sensitized on preventive measures on COVID-19, sanitization, maintaining social distance, etc through presenting pictorial images, the release stated.

 

Meanwhile, CAN Youth expressed gratitude to its partner organizations and individuals for extending financial support and also acknowledged the support of the Dimapur District Administration, DDMA Dimapur and Dimapur 24/7.
