CL John unveils the Chen Union (CU), Aboi ‘paan’ Morung plaque on December 28.

Mon, December 28 (MExN): The Chen Union (CU), Aboi “Paan” Morung plaque was unveiled by CL John and dedicated by Rev Yeangphong, Pastor, ATBC on December 28.
A press release received here stated that unveiling the plaque as chief guest, CL John expressed gratitude to the CU, Aboi for their hard work and successful completion of Morung and also to the surrounding villages, areas leaders for rendering their support and cooperation to CU, Aboi.
Addressing the gathering, he said, “We are reminded of the sacrifices and hardships rendered by the pioneers, under whose leadership and guidance we have reached thus far. John also said that in the olden days our forefathers built Paan (Morung) for training and also for any kind of decision making for society or village.”
He encouraged the people to make use of this “Paan” in today’s generation for training and decision making in the field of peace and prosperity. He also urged the people to work hard for one self, Aboi town is in the middle of Konyak’s land, a very fertile land.
While congratulating the Chen Union Aboi MLA Eshak, said that such kind of Morung is the first time in Aboi town and it has set a good example of unity to the people.
Yemwang Angh, Chenmoho urged the people to cooperate with neighbours. Short speeches were also delivered by Pangao, KU President Aboi, TP Pongyao, President KU Chen, Wangshok, President KVCU Chen Block, Shakwang Angh, Langmeing.
Later, Morung Booklet was dedicated by Rev Yeangphong, Pastor, ATBC and released by CL John.
Other highlights of the event included welcome address by M Tahkei Walim, President, CU, Aboi; special song by Lemwang and Shaboh, log drum beating by Ngangching, cultural dance by Chaoha Union Aboi Town, cultural song by Chen Yikyalan.
