DIMAPUR, MAY 19 (MExN): An interface fellowship program of Ao theological educators and Ao Baptist Churches organized by ABAM Literature & Education Ministry was held on May 18 & 19 at Impur.
Speaking on the theme, ‘Balance in the Ministry,’ Rev Dr Mar Pongener, Executive Secretary, ABAM, opined that today the church as a body for smooth progress needs a well-balanced contribution from the theological educators and the full-time workers. And balanced contribution can happen only when there is mutual relationship, avail resources to one’s needs and develop a thirst for help between us. And so let us own the church and work tediously without making any ministerial polarization towards smooth progress of our churches, he added.
At the fellowship, speakers Rev Dr A Tali Ao, Academic Dean, Clark Theological College; Takosenla Walling, VP, New Life Theological College; Rev Dr Prof S Temjen Imchen, Principal, Agape College, and Narola Walling, Associate Professor, DBC spoke on expectations from the church by the theological educators
Under this concern, inclusive opportunities in the church, serious screening for aspiring students, entrepreneurship opportunities, and ministry to people with disabilities were the expectations voiced out by the speakers.
Also deliberating on the topic of expectations from theological educators by the Church, speakers Alemla Mozer, Secretary, ABAM WM; Rev Temsüwati, Associate Pastor, MTBA; Dr Lolen Imchen, Pastor, Mangmetong BA and Rev Tiatoshi Longkümer, Pastor, KABA focused the need for spirit-led teachers, spiritual and academic balance in the institutions, watchman, and biblically based institutions.
Altogether 35 theological educators and 143 full-time workers from 75 Ao Baptist Churches attended the programme.
