KOHIMA, AUGUST 31 (MExN): The Committee on Public Undertakings (COPU) conducted an on-site inspection of two Multi-Level Car Parking (MLCP) buildings in Kohima on August 30.
The inspection was led by Imkong L. Imchen, Advisor and Chairman of COPU, and included committee members Advisor Hekani Jakhalu, MLA Dr. Neisatuo Mero, and Advisor Sethrongkyu, along with officials from the Nagaland Legislative Assembly Secretariat.
The committee evaluated two MLCP structures: one at the Old Medical Directorate and the other at the Old NST. The MLCP at the Old Medical Directorate, a five-story building constructed at a cost of Rs. 31.22 crore, has a capacity of 150 vehicles and 67 shops. The seven-story MLCP at Old NST, costing Rs. 28.78 crore, can accommodate 120 vehicles and 16 shops.
In addition to the site inspections, the committee visited the office of the CEO of Kohima Smart City Development Ltd (KSCDL) under the Department of Municipal Affairs.
The officials were informed that the Kohima City Centre and the Kohima Local Ground, both projects overseen by KSCDL, are scheduled to be inaugurated by the end of October and November 2024, respectively.
Following the inspection, the committee expressed satisfaction with the progress of the M LCP projects and commended the implementing agency for their efforts. They emphasized the importance of public appreciation for government developmental initiatives and urged citizens to make effective use of the facilities provided by the KSCDL projects.
