Mon, April 27 (MExN): “Criminal proceedings will be initiated against any individual, organisation, village or ward council or Fair Price Shop found selling the free rice,” Deputy Commissioner, Mon, Thavaseelan K, IAS stated in a notification issued through the DIPR.
The DC Mon along with the Assistant Director and other Personnel of the Department of Food and Civil Supplies and Manager, Food Corporation of India, Mon launched the first phase of free rice distribution for the month of April and May under Pradhan Mantra Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) Scheme in Mon Town on April 27.
Under the PMGKAY Scheme, 5 Kgs of rice per month shall be distributed free of cost to every member of a PHH and AAY Ration Card household for April, May and June.
Advance distribution of rice (regular) for the month of May and June for PHH and AAY beneficiaries has been completed. The free rice under PMGKAY for June will be distributed in the second phase in May 2020. In the first phase, free rice will be distributed only for April and May.
All FPSs are to mandatorily use the e-POS device during issue of rice as directed by the Department.
