Silchar, June 19 (MExN): Assam Rifles in collaboration with Assam University Silchar is conducting a joint seminar on ‘Convergence of Security Forces and Mass Media towards Nation Building’ in Silchar on June 23.
Lt Gen Sukhdeep Sangwan, SM, Director General Assam Rifles and Prof (Dr) Dilip Chandra Nath, Vice Chancellor, Assam University Silchar are among the prominent personalities attending the seminar.
Curtain raiser of the seminar was held at Srikona on June 19, attended by officers of IGAR (East), faculty of mass communication, Assam University Silchar and journalists from local media, informed a press release received here.
The speakers and panellists for the seminar from the security forces are Lt Gen Syed Ata Hasnain, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, SM, VSM (Retd), Lt Gen SL Narasimhan, PVSM, AVSM, VSM (Retd), and Lt Gen (Dr) Anil Kumar Misra, AVSM (Retd). Speakers from mass media participating in the event are Subir Bhaumik, Moji Riba, Samudra Gupta Kashyap, Subimal Bhattacharjee, and Taimur Raja Choudhury.
Under the guidance of Prof (Dr) Gyan Prakash Pandey, PhD scholars Sutapa Mishra and Mita Das will also be presenting their papers.
The seminar, according to the release, is an attempt to seek answers to numerous queries confronting India as a nation and its significant instruments of ‘nation building’ viz., security forces and mass media.
