Dimapur, April 11 (MExN): As precautionary measures to contain and control the spread of COVID-19 in the district, Longleng Deputy Commissioner has directed all the Village Council Chairmen and Ward Presidents of Longleng and Tamlu to immediately report in case of any unusual increase in cases of fever/cough/shortness of breath within their respective jurisdictions.
The local authorities have been asked to contact the mobile numbers 8874454483 and 8974382925 for rapid response from the district surveillance unit of the department of Health & Family Welfare, Longleng.
Free distribution of ration to BPL families
Meanwhile, a joint venture of apex organizations of the Phom community comprising of the Phom Students Conference (PSC), Phom People's Council (PPC), Phomla Hoichen, Phom Baptist Christian Association (PBCA) and the District Administration distributed free rations and other essential commodities to around 700 BPL holders in Longleng town on Saturday.
The remaining commodities will be sent to Tamlu sub-division for free distribution, a DIPR report stated.
