DDCF suggests post-lockdown measures

Dimapur, April 7 (MExN): Dimapur District Citizens’ Forum (DDCF) on Tuesday acknowledged the steps taken by the District Administration and at the same time suggested measures that may be taken post lockdown in order to ensure safety of all.

In a press release, the Forum stated that Dimapur, being the “gateway to Nagaland,” needs to be more cautious. As such it appealed the denizens to follow the directives of the government and maintain personal hygiene and social distancing. It also observed that the District Administration should “come up with better plans to avoid mad rush in the market places and ATMs as seen when the total lockdown was partially lifted.”

Stating that its support and cooperation to government’s directives would continue, the Forum also suggested measures that may be taken post lockdown for the safety of all.

One of the measures suggested by the DDCF was to maintain social distancing at least for another month and also the continuation of the present system of decentralisation of markets in respective colonies with prices being monitored regularly.

To avoid “mad rush” in the market and traffic jams, it also suggested that the Commissioner of Police enforce the Delhi model of vehicular movements on alternate days based on odd-even registration numbers for a fortnight post lockdown.

Further, the Forum also expressed gratitude to other communities, civil society organisations as well as individuals who have come forward and are helping those who are most affected by the lockdown.
