Wokha, April 19 (DIPR): Additional Deputy Commissioner Bhandari, Changimeren Chang, on April 18, held a Departmental co-ordination meeting under his Chairmanship with all the head of offices under Bhandari sub-division at the Dobashi Customary Court building, Bhandari.

In his address he thanked the officers and their staff for their service and cooperation during the recently concluded 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly Election, which was remarkably peaceful and smooth within the sub-division.

Stressing on the agendas of the meeting, he stated that performance of all departments of the Sub division will be keenly watched and updated periodically by the District Planning and Developmental Board, Wokha, henceforth and he encouraged the heads of offices to adhere to their roles and responsibilities for the interest of the general public and their respective departments.

In the meeting, the agendas discussed were: Monthly co-ordination meeting to be conducted on every first Wednesday of the month and departments will highlight and give presentation of their activities on rotation basis after which relevant agendas will be screened and put up to the DPDB Wokha, for necessary action thereof.

The meeting deliberated and resolved to adopt a Model Village under Bhandari sub-division and undertake a convergence programme for which departmental committee was set up to work out modalities and select a village.

This is being initiated to help raise the livelihood and economy of the rural people.

It was also decided that BDO Bhandari and Branch Manager SBI and Baghty will liaise for opening of Bank accounts and holding of village Cluster camps for Aadhaar enrolment and accounts opening.

Requirement for opening of accounts under SBI with Aadhaar number to avail benefits by the Job Card holders under the MGNREGA Scheme was discussed at length as it was stated by the concerned department that presently out of the thousands Job Card holders only limited number of beneficiaries have bank accounts.

Aadhaar enrolment of Zero to 6 years old children under Child Development Project Officer, Bhandari, its present congested office space and the need for allotment of land for construction of CDPO office was also discussed.

During the discussion, it was also highlighted that the banking sector which is said to be catering to the service of 68 villages of Bhandari sub- division alone has limited manpower and infrastructure due to which difficulties and challenges are faced in the digitised system.

Suggestion by BDO Bhandari, that a layout of Annual Action Plan by departments would be helpful to avoid duplication of schemes was also discussed upon.

Running of illegal Mills along the National Highway from Merapani to Bhandari, absence of Proper Office building for Food and Civil Supplies, Bhandari etc. were also discussed in the meeting.

The meeting also resolved to conduct departmental-cum-public social Work in Bhandari Head Quarter on April 21, from 6 a.m. onwards for preparedness for the onset of monsoon season.
