Dimapur frontline workers get a treat of pork and axone

The Western Sumi Hoho distributed approximately 3000 lunch packs cooked with a combination of pork and axone to the frontline workers including administration, police, medical staff, power department, municipal staff and others in Dimapur on April 11.
Speaking during a brief programme at the premises of the office of the Commissioner of Police, Dimapur, Western Sumi Hoho, President, Dr. Kakheto Zhimomi said that the public have been observing that the district administration, police, medical staff and others have been working day and night in the fight against Covid-19 and lauded them. He said that the small initiative of distributing lunch packs “is nothing but to express our heartfelt gratefulness to the heroes who are sacrificing and working tirelessly ... and to show that the people are grateful to you.” He added, “on behalf of the Sumis living in Dimapur, we salute you for your tireless works and sacrifices.” He said that the Sumi community in Dimapur were all behind them in the common fight against the pandemic.
Dr. Kakheto also said that after the state government set up Special Committee for Covid-19 in Dimapur, hiccups encountered during the initial period of lockdown were cleared and a number of streamlining has been done in various aspects. He appealed the frontline workers to continue serving the people.
Kikheto lauded the administration, police and health workers for tackling the current situation surpassing the expectations of the people. He said it was time to come together in the mission against the dreaded disease and appealed the civil societies especially the Western Sumi Hoho to continue their support and cooperation. On behalf of the Special Committee, he thanked WSH, administration, police, medical staff and all other frontline workers during this challenging time.
DC Dimapur said such voluntary services encourage and motivate the government officials to work harder for the people and thanked the WSH for distributing lunch packs. He placed on record appreciation to the civil societies with whose support the lockdown has been successful and urged for continuous cooperation with each other. The DC also reiterated that there was no dearth of essential commodities.
Commissioner of Police, Dimapur, Rothihu Tetseo who presided over the brief programme also thanked the WSH for their gesture. Volunteers from Dimapur Sumi Totimi Hoho, Thahekhu Sumi Totimi Hoho, Thilixu Sumi Totimi Hoho and Western Sumi Students’ Union undertook the entire lunch pack exercise.
