Dimapur, October 7 (MExN): Refresher training on Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP) -Integrated Health Information Platform (IHIP) for health workers under Chief Medical Officer, Dimapur was held batch-wise from September 28 to October 7 at Chief Medical Officer’s Conference Hall, Dimapur.
According to a press release from Kimnei, District Media Officer, Dimapur IHIP is a web-enabled android application which is near-real-time electronic information system to provide state-of-the-art single operating picture with geospatial information for managing disease outbreaks and related resources.
It is accessible in all levels; village, district, state, and central levels. The vision of IHIP is an essential part of India’s National Digital health Plan and the national health Policy 2017 goal towards greater accountability by using digital technology and real time health information across the nation.
It is transitioning from paper-based reporting to web-enabled real-time IHIP reporting from all the health units, she added.
The resource persons were Dr Antara Sharma, Surveillance Coordinator, Jhpiego-NISHTHA and Aomar, Data Manager, IDSP Dimapur supported by Dr Molung Jamir, Epidemologist. A total of 66 health workers were trained during the training. The trainees were given hands-on instruction on how to upload quality data from their respective health units. Dr Kavito Zhimomi, District Surveillance Officer Dimapur also stressed on the importance of daily reporting and providing quality data for strengthening the disease surveillance system.
