DIMAPUR, JANUARY 10 (MExN): The Dimapur Police has made five arrests in connection to two separate cases of attempted vehicle hijacking and drug possession.
A press release from the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police and PRO, Dimapur Police informed that on January 8, the police arrested four persons for attempting to hijack a SUV vehicle near New Medziphema area on NH-29.
The four arrested individuals have been identified as the NSCN (IM)’s Major KS Yaoreingam (45 years); Major Hovishe Yeptho (40 years); 2nd Lieutenant Sashimatsung (41 years); and Lance Corporal Kohringtha (19 years).
In this connection a Maruti vehicle used by the arrested persons was also seized. A case has been registered at Medziphema PS, the police added.
Meanwhile the press release also informed that on January 7, the Crime Branch of the Dimapur Police arrested one individual for illegal possession of Crystal Meth weighing approximately 990 grams. The individual, identified as one Wisdom Yurnganing (34 years), was arrested from the Naharbari junction area in Dimapur.
A case in this connection has been registered at the Dimapur East Police Station, police informed.
